FAIRBORN —
Police said it’s not often that they catch suspected burglars still in the homes they target, but what happened Monday morning on Dayton Yellow Springs Road is even more unusual.
That’s when a woman came home to her apartment and found 22-year-old Ryan Call of Fairborn sleeping on her couch.
He was still snoozing when police arrived to take him into custody.
“They had a little difficulty getting him awake because he seemed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” said Fairborn Police Sgt. Paul Hicks. “We don’t know his intent. We know he forced his way in.”
He may have also eaten some of the resident’s food and police don’t know how long he was there. The resident had been away since Thursday.
Hicks said Call has been booked into the Fairborn City Jail on a misdemeanor breaking and entering charge, and has been uncooperative with police. More charges could be added Tuesday, when the courts reopen.
