Victim pistol-whipped during home invasion

DAYTON —

A man suffered a laceration on his head Monday evening when he was hit with a gun during a home invasion on Newton Avenue.

The 52-year-old victim reported to police that he answered his door at about 7:15 p.m. and a man asked if his son was home.

When the victim said his son no longer lives at that address, the man pulled out a revolver and hit the victim in the head with it, according to a Dayton Police incident report.

The individual told the victim to lie on the couch and two more men entered the home.

The three took a TV and iPhone. They hit the victim several more times in the head with a gun.

He was unable to give a good description of the suspects.
