A 33-year-old man is in the Montgomery County Jail accused of injuring an 87-year-old woman Wednesday when he knocked her down while snatching her purse.

Terrance Brown grabbed the woman in front of or near a drug store at Third and Main streets before robbing her.

She lost at least three teeth and suffered cuts to her face when she hit the pavement after he knocked her down, Dayton police said.

Surveillance video and witness statements helped police apprehend Brown sometime after 3 p.m., police said.

They said they found the woman’s change purse in Brown’s possession.

He was booked into jail on one count of aggravated robbery and is scheduled to answer to the charge in court on Thursday afternoon.
