TIPP CITY —

Several dogs taken from a Miami County home Friday night are available immediately for adoption.

About 85 dogs were seized from the home on U.S. 40 just outside Tipp City Friday night because the homeowner is in the hospital and could no longer care for the dogs, according to reports. The homeowner had turned her home into a rescue center.

Several of the dogs had already been placed by Monday morning, and the Miami County Animal Shelter was down to 50 dogs left at the shelter. Ten of the dogs are available for adoption immediately, and some of the dogs will be taken to other area shelters to be put up for adoption.

The dogs were evaluated by veterinarians this weekend, and were determined to be in good health. The dogs were of good weight, authorities said.
