Police said a woman in her 20s crashed into a pole on McKaig Avenue early Saturday after leading officers on a brief pursuit.

Emergency personnel responded to the 800 block of McKaig around 12:45 a.m. on reports of a crash in the area.

The woman crashed into a Dayton Power and Light pole following the pursuit, which police said lasted for a few minutes. The pole snapped in half, and DP&L crews were dispatched to repair the pole.

Prior to crashing into the pole the woman struck several vehicles parked along the side of the road.

Medics checked the driver and the scene, but she was not transported to the hospital.

Police detained the woman and said alcohol may have played a role in the crash.
