Fire damages Wapakoneta house

WAPAKONETA —

Three people will have to stay in temporary shelter after fire hit their home at 611 Perry St. early Saturday morning.

Fire units from Wapakoneta and Buckland were called to the burning home just after midnight.

They found smoke and flame in the attic area.

Wapakoneta Fire Capt. Jeff Orphal said the three residents smelled the smoke, and escaped safely.

He said the cause and damage estimate are undetermined.

Orphal said that investigators were expected back on the scene later Saturday morning.
