OAKWOOD —

The Oakwood Board of Education is expected to name Kyle Ramey its new superintendent today.

Kevin Philo, Oakwood Schools treasurer, said the board would announce its choice at a 5 p.m. meeting.

Kettering City Schools superintendent James Schoenlein told staff on Tuesday that Ramey, that district’s director of instructional services, has been chosen for the Oakwood post.

Ramey, 46, an Oakwood resident who has held several other positions in Kettering schools, was identified in February as one of two finalists to succeed Mary Jo Scalzo, who will retire June 30.

John Kronour, superintendent of Tipp City Exempted Village Schools in Miami County and a former Oakwood Junior High School principal, was the other.
