Kettering woman duped into armed robbery

DAYTON —

Police said a Kettering woman was led to a dead-end street by another woman asking for a ride, and when the woman arrived at the street she was robbed at gunpoint.

Around 5 a.m. authorites recieved a call of an armed robbery and reported to the Shell, 4046 Free Pike, where the victim had driven following the robbery, police said.

Initial reports indicated the woman was robbed in the 1900 block of Fairport Avenue, which is where the street dead-ends into Kings Highway, according to police. The woman told officers a man armed with a handgun pointed the weapon at her and stole her purse and cell phone, police said.

After the robbery the woman, who was unfamiliar with the area, drove to the Shell to get help, police said.
