LEBANON — From brooms to pottery, from furniture to photographs, the Warren County Festival of the Arts promises to provide something to inspire any imagination, its organizers said.

The ninth annual Warren County Festival of the Arts will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday in downtown Lebanon along Mulberry and Mechanic streets.

The event will feature more than 50 artists displaying fine arts and crafts for browsing and purchasing.

“The Warren County Festival of the Arts is a chance for visitors to expose themselves and their families to a wide variety of arts,” said Mary Feie, one of the events organizers.

Feie said all artist are chosen to participate by a jury, ensuring a high quality of vendor.

“We have a really good mix coming from around Ohio and five states, as far away as South Carolina,” Feie said.

Among the artistic ventures being displayed are broom makers, furniture makers, glass blowers, shaker box makers, potters, photographers and painters. Visitors will have an opportunity to vote on the best artist, with the winner receiving a $100 prize.

“Every year we strive to get higher quality artists into the festival,” Feie said. Last year’s festival was attended by approximately 12,000 people, she said. A youth art display will be hung in the former Best Cafe on Mulberry Street, displaying art from high school and college students living and creating in Warren County.

Feie noted there would plenty of activities for adults and children alike at the festival. A kid’s section will allow children to explore their own artistic impulses with a hands-on pottery creation station and a place to make some music. Adults can enjoy a wine tasting at Bicentennial Park.

The festival will feature live entertainment all day long with musicians performing on a stage set up at the intersection of Mulberry and Mechanic streets. Of course, not festival would be complete without a variety of food venders serving treats, both hot and cold.

“We have lots of excellent artists and a great deal of diversity among the artistic talents being displayed,” Feie said.
