DAYTON —

A local man chose to go above the typical gesture of having flowers sent to his valentine today.

An electronic billboard on Keowee Street just north of Third Street in Dayton has a message for Kim Pawelski: “Thanks for being my Valentine for 30 years.”

The message, which has the woman’s photo, is signed, “Love, John.”

It is rotating with other electronic advertisements on the billboard controlled by Lamar Advertising.

A representative of Lamar said they have an artist on site and billboards can be done pretty quickly. A one-day sign on one billboard costs around $100, he said.
