In hotels, look for an older male checking in with a young female or females. Hotel workers should look for guests who are frequent customers on weekends but have a local address and identification.
In nail salons, look for sleeping bags or back rooms that indicate employees are living at work. Watch for salon workers being driven to the store in groups all at once. Watch for workers who answer casual questions with scripted or rehearsed responses and for workers who appear exceptionally young, fearful or submissive.
In general, look for security measures that appear to keep people inside an establishment — barbed wire inside a fence, bars covering the insides of windows. Also, watch for situations where people are not allowed to go into public alone or speak for themselves.
Suspicious situations may be reported to the Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation, (855) 224-6446.
