Record breaking high temperatures resulted in an estimated 38 percent decrease in attendance at the Vectren Dayton Air Show this weekend.

An estimated 47,000 people attended the show despite the weather, according to the release. The show was headlined by the Blue Angels.

An estimated 147 patients received medical attention on Saturday, according to Bill Mangas, the air show medical operations director. That number includes 29 people who were transported to local hospitals. Most were treated for heat-related illnesses. Only a few had non-weather medical emergencies, according to reports.

On Sunday, 75 patients received medical attention and five were transported to local hospitals for treatment, according to Mangas, according to reports.

“The 2012 show lineup was simply awesome. We are pleased with the number of people that attended given the abnormally high temperatures,” said Michael Emoff, Chairman of the United States Air & Trade Show Board of Trustees in a news release.
