HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio —

Police said a high speed car chase that started in Huber Heights ended as a foot chase in Harrison Township early Sunday evening around 5:35pm.

On Monday, News Center 7 obtained cruiser cam video of the chase as it traveled through several jurisdictions before ending in Harrison Township.

After approximately 40 minutes, Montgomery County Sheriffs deputies had a suspect in custody at the intersection of Nomad and North Dixie Drive. Deputies said they identified the suspect as Randal Powell Hampton, 29, of 2113 Gypsy in Harrison Township.

The chase started on southbound Wagner Ford Road with a Huber Heights officer in pursuit. Speeds reached 80 mph and then increased to 85 mph as the suspect turned onto Needmore Road. After numerous turns through a Harrison Township neighborhood, the suspect bailed out of the car and allowed the car to continue, hitting a home at 2212 Nomad Ave.

News Center 7 was not informed of any injuries from the car hitting the home.

A foot chase ensued with Huber Heights officers and deputies searching for the suspect. At 6:11pm, police scanner audio stated that the suspect was in custody at the intersection of Nomad Avenue.

The investigation continues.
