IPad sale on Craigslist leads to armed robbery

GREENE COUNTY —

A man who held another man at gunpoint during the sale of an iPad has been arrested.

The suspect, Daniel Stump, met with the victim in Spring Valley after the victim responded to his ad on the website Craigslist.com. The victim reported the suspect pulled out a gun and demanded the suspect’s cash. The victim gave about $400 to him and the suspect ran.

Residents of Spring Valley who saw Stump called the Sheriff’s Office, and deputies arrested him. Stump had outstanding warrants and was booked into jail.

The victim told News Center 7 he has bought items from people off the website many times and never had a crime occur. He says he’ll be rethinking purchases via the site in the future.
