WEST CARROLLTON —

A 22-month-old girl who was pulled from a West Carrollton pool last week died early Tuesday morning. The girl was identified by the Montgomery County Coroner’s office as Rylee Jacobs.

She was taken off life support on Monday and pronounced deceased at 2 a.m. Tuesday, police said.

Jacobs was unconscious when she was pulled from a gated, outdoor pool at the Villa South Gardens apartments in West Carrollton on Aug. 1.

Police said the girl’s mother was with her at the time of the drowning. They are still investigating exactly how Jacob’s ended up in the pool and expect criminal charges could be filed within a week.

Witnesses said the girl’s mother was already performing CPR on Jacobs when they arrived.

“We need somebody here. Some baby, they just pulled out of the pool,” a neighbor told a 911 dispatcher. When the dispatcher asked if the child was breathing the caller said, “I don’t know the mother was with her. It didn’t look like it.”
