DAYTON —
A mild earthquake was felt in the Miami Valley around noon on Saturday.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey’s website, the 4.3 earthquake originated in Whitesburg, Ky., but was felt in eight other states, including Ohio, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, Indiana, West Virginia, Virginia and Georgia.
WHIO TV had received numerous calls from area residents just after noon regarding their noticing the mild tremor. The National Weather Service confirmed several residents received reports of the earthquake in the area, which originated in eastern Kentucky.
Area residents across the Miami Valley, including Huber Heights, Xenia, Springfield and Tipp City, reported feeling the effects of teh tremor to the USGS. More details on this earthquake can be found at the U.S. Geological Survey website.
