This weekend’s Yuletide Winter’s Gathering is just the beginning of a season of winter events in downtown Tipp City.

The tradition of Winter’s Gathering continues, now under the auspices of the Downtown Tippecanoe Merchants. The shopkeeper’s open house is scheduled 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11.

Among other weekend activities will be horse drawn wagon rides and free popcorn.

Also during the weekend, the Window Wonderland merchant’s window judging begins and continues through Dec. 1. Ballots are available at any downtown merchant. Prizes will be awarded for most creative, most original and most unique.

As the holiday season moves forward, homes along North Third Street will be preparing for the annual Tippecanoe Christmas in the Village with its holiday home tour noon to 5 p.m. Dec. 1.

This year’s tour features seven homes showcasing interior designers as well as some of the homes in the city’s downtown area. In addition to designers showing off “over the top” table tops, they will try their hands at festive porch designs for those who’d like to extend holiday decorating outdoors.

Home tour tickets are available on the Downtown Tipp City Partnership Web site at www.DowntownTippCity.org. They are $15 in advance, $20 on tour day.

Special holiday shopping events downtown also will include a Stuff Your Stocking Night on Dec. 11 and the Men’s Shopping Night Dec. 16.

At the Stuff Your Stocking night, customers bring their stocking to participating stores. Whatever fits in the stocking can be purchased for 20 percent off. The Men’s night allows men to shop for special gifts. Women are invited to fill out a wish list for their favorite store as a guide.
