‘Loud boom’ may have scared off burglar

Staff Report

DAYTON —

Police said someone apparently tried to break in to Moe’s Tire Sales on Thursday night.

A panel was broken out of a garage door at the business, 4601 Little Richmond Road, and the alarm system as well as phone lines were disabled, according to a Dayton police report.

Nothing appeared to be missing and tool boxes near the point of entry appeared undisturbed, according to the report.

Police said the burglar may have been scared off by a loud boom that was reported in the area at about 9 p.m., according to the report.
