Man and dogs OK after kitchen fire

FAIRBORN —

A man awoke from a nap Friday evening and found a fire in his kitchen.

Fire crews encountered smoke shortly after 8 p.m. coming from the front of the home in the 200 block of Bobb Street.

Fairborn Battalion Chief Dennis McCoy said a cabinet was on fire in the kitchen and the cause is under investigation.

The resident said he smelled smoke after waking up and found the fire. he said he and his three dogs got out OK before fire crews arrived.

Aside from a messy kitchen, McCoy said the residents will be able to stay in the home.
