TROTWOOD — Neighbors heard a man screaming and when they ran to find out what was wrong they discovered a man had been stabbed.
“He’s over there screaming ‘I got stabbed’, so I went over there to help him,” said Harley Turner, who lives a street down from where police said the alleged stabbing victim was found. “No one was coming out, so I got on the phone and called 911.”
Police said they responded to a call of a reported stabbing in the 2600 block of Melvin Avenue around 11:45 p.m. Sunday. When they arrived they found a victim with multiple stab wounds to his abdomen and back area, said Sgt. Dan Heath, Trotwood Police Department.
The victim was rushed to Miami Valley Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to Heath. Police are still investigating how the victim sustained the wounds. So far, Heath said, neighbors and the victim have not been cooperative.
The case remains under investigation.
