XENIA TWP., Greene County —

Suspicious items found on the side of a road near Xenia this afternoon turned out to be stuff used in the manufacture of methamphetamine.

Greene County Sheriff’s deputies responded at approximately 4:20 p.m. to a complaint from a resident in the 1300 block of Union Road.

The resident reported seeing a bottle with tubes sticking out of it in a ditch on Union near the intersection of Bell Road, according to scanner traffic.

The officer in charge on scene said the suspicious items are “remnants of a meth lab” that was apparently dumped there.

Officers dressed in white hazardous materials suits removed the items from the ditch.

The incident remains under investigation.
