Mom will be mad, but brother thankful for drug arrest

DAYTON —

When police stopped two brothers driving on James H. McGee Boulevard Thursday night, officers found heroin in the car, but at least one of the brothers was grateful.

John Wayman Bliss, 28, and Jason Wesley Bliss, 24, both of West Carrollton, were arrested on suspicion of felony drug possession, according to the Dayton police report.

The Bliss brothers admitted to the officers that they drove to the city and had bought the heroin to support addictions, which required shooting up two to three times a day for the last few years, according to the report.

The brothers were using their grandmother’s vehicle, which was police put a hold on and towed away.

During the ride to jail, Jason Bliss told the officer that their mother was going to be “extremely upset,” but he repeatedly thanked the officer for arresting them in hopes that it will be “a wake up call for both of them,” according to the report.
