BEAVERCREEK —

A con man is coming to Beavercreek.

He is “Professor” Harold Hill, one of the lead characters in “The Music Man,” being presented August 3-5 by Serendipity Stage Productions in the Beavercreek High School Alumni Auditorium.

The director of the show, and founder of Serendipity Stage Productions, a newly-formed not-for-profit summer theater organization in Beavercreek, is Sandy Focht, a retired Beavercreek City School’s teacher and play director.

The cast and crew features about 50 current and former Beavercreek City School students and Beavercreek residents “who want to perform for fun.”

For many, it is a family affair, including siblings, parent and child and entire families.

For instance, Focht’s daughter, Jen Focht, is the assistant director and the producer, Joyce Carter, is sharing the experience with her husband, Rob, and their daughters Amanda and Vanessa.

The cast includes brothers Levi, Preston and Spencer Hancock along with sisters Elena and Mariana Luke.

Adult cast members also include Scott Baltzer, Jarrod Davis, Pam Haislip, Alexzandria Okker, Andrew Stokely, Jeannie Campbell and Thomas Dunn.

Younger cast members include Jacob Berry, Mia Bridgman, Maddie Wagner, Emma Budde, Nathan Byrd, Cody Campbell, Kennidie Collins, Matthew Gregson, Cole Gutterman, Judith Kroll, Kendall Resseguie, Alaina Saliba, Ella Smith, Kevin Smart and Hannah Gruys.

The show’s barber shop quartet is composed of David Boos, Dan Eckhart, Dan Frye and Sam Haschke, all members of the Miami Valley Music Men.

The show’s staff also includes Jason Enneking as vocal director, Lauren Parrish as vocal coach, Ben Spencer as orchestra director and accompanist, Laura Leach as choreographer, Josh Hughes as assistant choreographer, Anne Heitker as costume coordinator, Ryan Grant as stage manager and Anita Campbell as set designer.

The event will include, prior to each performance, a “Celebrate the Creek” event in the lobby outside of the theater, showcasing local businesses, including restaurants that will be selling food.
