OVI checkpoint statistics released by deputies



MONTGOMERY COUNTY —

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the Montgomery County Combined Agency O.V.I. Task Force conducted an O.V.I. sobriety checkpoint late Wednesday on Germantown Pike in Jefferson Township.

The checkpoint yielded one O.V.I. arrest, 11 driving under suspension and no driver’s license charges, six seat belt violations, two child restraint violations, one misdemeanor warrant arrest, two open container violations and four other traffic violations, according to a release from the sheriff’s office.

In addition to the checkpoint, deputies were also on saturation patrol in the area to help combat drunk drivers.

According to the release, the Montgomery County Combined Agency O.V.I. Task Force and the sheriff’s office will have additional officers and deputies on the roads throughout the holiday weekend.
