GREENE COUNTY —

A man accused of setting off a chain-reaction crash that injured 10 people was sentenced to six and a half years in prison today.

Sean Reynolds was sentenced in Greene County Common Pleas Court for his sixth operating a vehicle intoxicated conviction in 20 years.

Prosecutors said he was drunk when he rear-ended a stopped car on U.S. 35 near Trebein Road on March 26 of last year. Reynolds’ Jeep sustained heavy damage and flipped over while smashing together six other cars in front of it and vaulting the wreckage into the intersection.

In addition to jail time, he was ordered to pay a little over $1,000 in fines and his driver’s license will be suspended for 50 years.

His attorney said they will be filing an appeal.
