An outpouring of support continues in the community in honor of three Bellbrook High School students killed in a Sugarcreek Twp. crash last week.

This morning, Oakwood students delivered a banner to Bellbrook High School to show their sympathy.

Also today, visitation is being conducted for 14-year-old Julianna Sarah Hawk. Services are scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. at Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Road, Kettering. There will be a private funeral service for family and friends.

Hawk, Sophie Marie Kerrigan, 17, and Skylar Lynn Kooken, 16, died just before 12:45 a.m. Sunday when the pickup truck they were riding in slammed into a tree on Wagner Road near Oleva Drive.

Relatives say the accident happened after Sophie, Skylar and three other Sugarcreek teens picked Hawk up from a party in Kettering.

The three other teens — Ryan Whitaker, 17; Zachery Morgan, 18; and Allison Magill, 17 — were taken to area hospitals. Morgan and Whitaker have since been released.

On Monday, police reported Magill’s condition was serious.

All of the girls were riding inside the extended cab of the pickup truck. The force of the collision uprooted a mature tree and buckled and mangled the truck.

No charges have been filed as a result of the accident.

Sugarcreek Twp. police said Monday they do not believe drugs or alcohol played a part in the crash.

William L. Harden, chief investigator for the Greene County Coroner’s Office, said autopsy reports will be completed in six to eight weeks.

Joint visitation will be held for Sophie and Skylar 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Fairhaven Church, 637 E. Whipp Rd., Centerville. Both will be buried noon on Saturday at Bellbrook Cemetary.

A combined public memorial service for the three girls will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bellbrook High School, 3737 Upper Bellbrook Road.

Kooken’s mother, Kelli Kooken, said the girls were best friends since Sophie was in sixth grade and Skylar was in fifth grade.

“Where ever Sophie was, Skylar was there too,” Kooken said. Julianna was best friend’s with Kooken’s younger daughter.

Janet Carpenter, Sophie’s mother, said the older girls treated Julianna as a little sister.

“They were really good friends,” Carpenter said.
