Sunshine Saturday; rain late next week

SOUTHWEST OHIO —

Sunshine is on tap for Saturday, according to Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Erica Collura.

“We will briefly be above freezing this afternoon as we hit highs near 34 degrees” she said. “Increasing clouds will follow sun in the morning, and tonight we’ll be mostly cloudy.”

Collura said a few flurries are possible into Sunday morning, with lows in the mid-20s.

She added that snow showers are possible through Sunday, with a better chance later in the day.

“Very light accumulations if any are expected; about a dusting to a half inch is possible,” she said.

Collura said another high pressure system builds in overnight Sunday, with clearing skies and sunshine returning for Monday and Tuesday. She added that temperatures will be slightly milder.

She said highs Tuesday will be close to 40, with a high in the low 40s for Wednesday.

Collura said Wednesday looks like it will be drier, keeping rain to the south. She added that some rain is possible late Wednesday, mainly south. But Thursday will be the wet day of the week.

“Looks like rain arrives later in the day, she said, “carrying through Thursday night and tapering down Friday morning or a little earlier.”
