Teen chased, shot at after robbery

DAYTON —

A man told police he was chased and shot at Monday night after two men forced their way into his vehicle.

The 19-year-old told police he was driving a Chevrolet Impala at about 11:30 p.m. east on Third Street near Linden Avenue when he was approached by two men — one of whom was armed with a silver gun — who ordered him to unlock the vehicle, according to a Dayton police report.

The suspects got in and ordered the victim to drive around, ending up in an alley between East Fifth Street and Huffman Avenue, where they told him to get out and lie on the ground, according to the report.

Police said the victim ran after he heard one of the suspects tell the other, “shoot him.” The victim ran in a zigzag pattern as he heard the gunman running after him and firing two shots, one hitting the gravel by his feet, the report states.

The victim ran to the Circle K, 1918 E. Fifth St., where he met with police; the Impala was located in the alley and the victim’s wallet and iPhone 4S were missing, according to the report.

About four hours earlier, the same Circle K was robbed by two men wearing red bandannas over their faces, one of whom was armed with a gun. It is unclear whether the two crimes were committed by the same suspects.
