Oakwood yogurt shop ‘temporarily closed’

The Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt shop in the Routsong Commercial Center at Irving and Oakwood avenues near the University of Dayton has closed temporarily, according to a sign posted on the door of the business.

Tommy Routsong, owner of the retail center that also includes Saxby’s Coffee and Firehouse Subs, said Friday that he has had preliminary discussions with another Orange Leaf franchise owner to take over the Oakwood location. If all goes well, the Orange Leaf frozen yogurt shop may reopen soon, Routsong said.

There are two other Orange Leaf locations in the Dayton area, each owned by a separate franchise owner: in the Town & Country shopping center in Kettering, and on Wilmington Pike near I-675 in Sugarcreek Twp. The Oakwood location opened in 2014. The frozen-yogurt chain is based in Oklahoma City.

Orange Leaf spokeswoman Lisa Riley said Friday that Orange Leaf “is committed to this market and reopening this location.

“We are diligently working with this franchisee to resolve the situation as soon as possible,” Riley said.
