Ohio leaders to discuss college credit plus program at Clark State

The leader of Ohio’s Department of Higher Education and state legislators will on Wednesday visit Clark State Community College.

While there, they will discuss the impact of Ohio’s college credit plus program at 1:30 p.m. in the Sara T. Landess Technology and Learning Center on the Leffel Lane campus in Springfield, according to the school.

Chancellor John Carey will be joined by State Rep. Rick Perales, State Rep. Kyle Koehler and State Rep. Bill Dean.

Administrators from the Clark-Shawnee School District, the Springfield-Clark Career Technology Center and the Global Impact STEM Academy will join state leaders in discussion, according to Clark State.

College credit plus allows high school students to complete college classes before graduating. It also allows high school students to explore areas of study as they prepare to seek their college degree, according to the state.

Several college credit plus students will attend Wednesday’s meeting in order to share their experiences in the program, according to Clark State.
