A look at stimulus jobs in Ohio

— The economic stimulus package created or retained 1,138 highway construction jobs in July, with workers clocking in about 42,000 hours in labor and payroll of about $1.5 million.

— To date, Ohio has awarded about $372 million in stimulus money for 110 highway construction projects.

— Elsewhere, Ohio hired about 300 teens young adults in a $2 million stimulus program to trim trees, clear trails and make other improvements to state parks.

Someone at the Dayton Daily News should forward this information to Rep. Boehner and ask for his public comment on the stats. After all, he did state recently that the Recovery Act has not created any jobs, anywhere. At the very least, he needs to be informed about how the money is being spent in his own state.
