AAA: Ohio gas down 8 cents from last week

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio gasoline prices are down 8 cents from last week, falling for the first time after a month of steady increases.

A survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and Wright Express puts the current statewide average for regular-grade gas at about $2.58 per gallon, compared to $2.66 last Monday.

The dip in prices follows a 35-cent jump from early October to early November.

A year ago at this time, Ohio motorists were paying just $2.00 a gallon for regular.

The cost of oil also gave up some ground last week as a higher than expected U.S. unemployment rate stirred worries that consumer spending will remain sluggish.
