Join us in wishing the Flyers well

How sweet it is!

Last week, in the realm of college basketball, the University of Dayton earned the informal moniker “THE” University of Dayton with a one-point, last-second win over The Ohio State Buckeyes on Thursday.

Then, UD President Daniel J. Curran “crowdsurfed” down Kiefaber Street on Saturday night after the Flyers’ two-point victory over No. 3 seed Syracuse. Even President Obama tweeted, “Congrats to the @DaytonFlyers on a huge upset win!”

It’s been 30 years since the Flyers have made it to the Sweet 16 during NCAA March Madness — the only other times were in 1952, 1965, 1966, 1967, 1974 and 1984 — and everyone’s feeling some pride. As the team prepares to take out the No. 10 seed Stanford Cardinals on Thursday in Memphis, we invite our readers to submit letters to the editor to wish the Flyers well and tell them what their spirited and inspiring run means to the community.

Please comment below to show your Flyer Pride. Letters sent to the editor by noon Wednesday to edletter@coxinc.com with the subject line UD Flyers will be considered for print.
