Law enforcement agencies along Ohio 4 and Bypass Ohio 4 — which includes Fairfield, Fairfield Twp. and Hamilton — plan to have additional officers on OVI patrol.

Police agencies not situated near Ohio 4 will also have additional officers in their jurisdictions looking for impaired drivers, according to the task force.

The OVI Task Force recommends if people plan to drink, they:

  • plan a safe way home before festivities begin
  • designate a sober driver before drinking and give that person your keys
  • call a taxi or sober friend or family member if you are impaired
  • If anyone sees an impaired driver, they are asked to contact local law enforcement immediately.
