Marine Lt. Col. Mario D. Carazo, 41, of Springfield, Ohio, died July 22, 2010 while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to Marine Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.
Sgt. Cameron H. Thomas, 23, of Kettering, died April 27, 2017 in Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan, as a result of small arms fire while engaged in dismounted operations, according to a release.
