Berdut's lawyer, John Paul Rion, told News Center 7's Mike Campbell, "we're conducting our own investigation into the matter and trying to determine exactly what happened."
The charges of burglary and abduction reflect only one of several reported incidents on campus, UD police officials have said.
UPDATE @ 2:23 p.m. (Feb. 17): A judge in the UD naked intruder case set bond at $25,000 for Andres Berdut, for whom pleas of not guilty were entered. Berdut's parents were in court, but did not make public comment.
UPDATE @ 11:58 p.m. (Feb. 16):
A 22-year-old man, arrested by University of Dayton police at 3:55 a.m. Thursday, was booked into the Montgomery County Jail just after 2 p.m. on felony charges of burglary and abduction.
Andres Berdut is to be in court Friday afternoon for his initial appearance on the charges, according to the online jail records.
UPDATE @ 10:20 p.m. (Feb. 16):
A University of Dayton student has been arrested in one of the burglary incidents and is being charged with burglary and abduction, according to an email the university issued tonight.
Cilla Shindell, a UD spokeswoman, said she does not know the student’s age or where the student is being held.
According to the email, UD police made the arrest about 12:30 p.m. and said it was based on eyewitness identification of the suspect and an interview of the suspect.
UD police are continuing to investigate the other two incidents, “and we are confident the investigation will also link this suspect to those crimes,” the university said in the email statement.
Students, faculty and staff are being encouraged to contact the university’s Department of Public Safety, at 229-2121, if they witness a similar incident or any other suspicious or criminal behavior.
EARLIER REPORT
Police continue to look for a suspect who broke into three University of Dayton student homes on Wednesday wearing no clothing.
University police reports obtained by the Dayton Daily News reveal no new information about the break-ins. Most of the information in the reports has been redacted, including exact addresses and student names.
Early Wednesday morning, three female students reported that a nude man entered their houses early.
The first encounter occurred around 3:15 a.m. on Woodland Avenue, the second at 4 a.m. on Frericks Way and the third at 4:15 a.m. on College Park Avenue, according to an email advisory from the university.
Wednesday’s incident marked the second time in five months a naked man had broken into student houses at UD.

There was no update from UD police on the break-ins as of Thursday morning, said UD spokesman Shawn Robinson.
