We asked readers to submit their questions about Senate Bill 5 so our reporters could answer them.
Q: If Senate Bill 5 is rejected and the unions don’t compromise on the measures covered by SB 5, can you determine how massive the layoffs would have to be? Stanley Dixon, Beavercreek
A: This would be difficult to predict. The 3,700 different government jurisdictions in Ohio face different financial circumstances and labor relations. Supporters of Senate Bill 5 say the reforms would cut personnel costs so that layoffs could be avoided. Opponents of Senate Bill 5 say unions across the state have accepted millions of dollars in concessions during tough economic times. Laura Bischoff, Columbus Bureau
