Bulldog puppy stolen from ransacked apartment in Dayton

A 3-month-old bulldog was stolen from an apartment in Dayton.

A 57-year-old man called Dayton police to his home on Basswood Avenue Tuesday night after he discovered his home ransacked and multiple items missing, including his puppy dog, according to the police report.

The man’s door lock was damaged and his door pried opened.

Items stolen include a 32-inch TV$200 cash and a 3-month-old bulldog white in color with brown spots, according to the report. The man said he purchased the dog just three weeks ago for $500.

“The suspect had forced entry into the side door of his home, breaking a steel security screen door and breaking out the wood of the door around the deadbolt and handle to make entry,” the report reads.

The victim said he left for work around 6:20 a.m. and returned around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
