Semi rolls over, spills grease in Butler County

UPDATE @ 5 p.m.: The off-bound ramp from Ohio 4 north to Ohio 73/Oxford State Road in Lemon Twp. remains closed after a semi-truck driver lost his load of discarded cooking grease.

Butler County Sheriff’s Maj. Mike Craft said no one was hurt in the single-vehicle crash Tuesday morning.

The driver said he did not realize how sharp the curve was when he lost control of the semi, Craft said.

The driver was not cited, but he will be facing fines and clean-up costs as a result of the crash.

The Ohio Department of Transportation remained on the scene as of 5 p.m., cleaning the ramp.

INITIAL REPORT:

A highway ramp will remain closed until grease is cleaned off the road after a semi-truck rollover earlier this morning.

According to Butler County dispatchers, no one was injured in the rollover which was reported at 6:17 a.m. at Ohio 4 north to the eastbound ramp to Oxford State Road in Lemon Twp.

Butler County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the crash.
