About Kent State: The Golden Flashes are scoring 70.5 points and giving up an average of 67.7 this season. They are 8-6 at home and 5-5 on the road. … Kent ranks second in the MAC in 3-point percentage (35.6), led by Brewer (42.3), sophomore guard Devareaux Manley (41.3), Holt (37.3), Goodson (35.7) and Evans (34.9). … Madison High School graduate Justin Brunswick is a walk-on player for KSU after transferring from Idaho State. The 6-10, 215-pound center has played just three minutes this season. “I think strength really prohibits him from helping us right now,” Flashes coach Rob Senderoff said. “He’s a great kid, someone that we like a lot. He just needs to really dedicate himself to the weight room and become more physical.”

Coach John Cooper on Kent State: “They’ve got very good size. They make us look small again. They’ve had their struggles, and then they’ve had stretches where they’ve played well. Probably a little bit of Jekyll and Hyde, but they’re very talented and can score the ball in different ways. They’re mostly a man team. Evans and Holt have taken 567 shots between them, so those two guys get the bulk of their scoring opportunities.”
