About Miami: The RedHawks lead this series 86-45, but lost 87-70 in Kent on Feb. 13. Evans led the Golden Flashes with 22 points, 13 rebounds, four steals and two assists, and Roberts’ 16 points paced MU. … Miami is 5-7 at home this season. Only three other teams in school history have finished below .500 at Millett Hall: 1978-79 (5-7), 1987-88 (4-8) and 1988-89 (2-10, but four of those losses were forfeits). … Former RedHawks head coach Charlie Coles will be honored at halftime. … If the MAC tournament started today, MU would travel to Buffalo on Monday, March 11.

About Kent State: The Golden Flashes led the MAC in 3-point percentage (36.4), and Brewer is the individual leader (44.6). Evans is a top-five performer in scoring and rebounding (7.6), while Holt ranks third in free-throw percentage (85.2). … Kent has lost its last four games at Millett Hall. Its last win in Oxford came on Jan. 17, 2008. … The Flashes are currently in a three-way tie for third place in the MAC East with Bowling Green and Buffalo. … Madison High School graduate Justin Brunswick has played in four games for KSU and has yet to score.

Coach John Cooper on Kent State: “They have the ability to shoot the ball. They’re very talented. They have good size on the perimeter. So when you look at them, they can score the ball from multiple positions on the floor. As you get into (MAC) tournament play, it’s not the kind of team that you necessarily want to face. I don’t know who’s going to win the tournament, but they have the potential to really do well.”
