About Wright State: Arceneaux played 37 minutes in the season-opening 80-70 victory over Idaho on Friday. Coach Billy Donlon said he still had a lot of pop at the end of the game, but he would rather Arceneaux play closer to 28-31 minutes per game. … Freshman Joe Bramanti started the opener instead of Griffin because Griffin hadn’t practiced much in the week leading up to the game because of an injury. Donlon said Monday he expected Griffin to return to the starting lineup because he had earned it in the preseason, but he said Bramanti played well in the opener. He had 2 assists and 0 turnovers in 12 minutes and guarded multiple positions.

About Eastern Illinois: The Panthers lost 76-53 to Bradley in their season opener Friday, shooting 35 percent from the field and committing 15 turnovers. Junior guard Morris Woods came off the bench to score a team-high 14 points. He hit 8-of-10 free throws. … Eastern’s first-year head coach is Jay Spoonhour, whose dad Charlie was a longtime head coach at Missouri State, St. Louis and UNLV. … Eastern finished 12-17 last season, and its top returning scorer is Piper.

Donlon on Eastern Illinois: “They play a lot of different defenses. They’re going to go for steals. They’re going to try to keep you off balance. They’re going to pressure the ball. Against Idaho, for the most part, we could run our stuff. That will be an adaptation. They’re kind of like we are. They’re not overly big at the center, but they have bigger wings that they try to post up. Our guards are going to have to play post defense. They have a good mix, a post guy who can make 3s, a couple of guards who can drove and shoot it.”
