A showing, funeral and reception for Jason Bitsko, the deceased Wayne High School graduate and Kent State University football player, is scheduled for Sunday and Monday.

Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Sunday at the St. Peter Catholic Church Family Center Gymnasium in Huber Heights (6161 Chambersburg Road). A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the sanctuary. Burial will follow at the Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. Following burial, a reception will be held at the Huber Heights Athletic Center (5367 Fishburg Road).

The Jason Bitsko Memorial Fund has been established to support the Kent State Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Bitsko, 21, was found dead in his off-campus apartment Wednesday due to an undetermined medical issue, according to Kent police. A starter at right offensive tackle last season, the redshirt junior had taken over at center during preseason practice.

Kent State players will wear Bitsko’s number 54 on their helmets to honor him this season. He was a 2011 Wayne grad and an offensive line starter on the 2010 Warriors team that lost 35-28 to Lakewood St. Edward in the Division I state final.
