Area high school boys, girls basketball roundup for Dec. 10

Thomasson, Alstork combine to sink 21 of 26 free-throw attempts.

Thurgood Marshall High School scored quickly in overtime and held off Jefferson 76-69 in boys basketball Saturday.

Joe Thomasson and Mark Alstork each scored 20 points to lead Marshall (2-1), which outscored Jefferson 16-9 in the extra period.

Thomasson was 14-of-16 from the free-throw line while Alstork was 7-of-10.

Devin Foster led Jefferson (2-1) with 20 points while Nicholas Thornton scored 19.

West Carrollton 57, Miamisburg 48: The Pirates led by 10 at halftime.

Connor Myslowski scored 14 points for West Carrollton (2-2). Randy Stites scored 12 and Blake Craig 10.

Nathan Chambers led Miamisburg (0-2) with 17. Austin Stroud scored 12 and John Giles 11.

Meadowdale 56, Western Hills 53: Meadowdale trailed by two at the end of the third, but rallied in the fourth behind seven points from Odis Shine and six from Brandon Harris.

Shine finished with 14 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists and three steals.

Harris led undefeated Meadowdale (4-0) with 16 points.

Vandalia Butler 46, Tecumseh 27: The Aviators (2-2) held Tecumseh to single-digit scoring in each quarter.

Jordan Greer led Vandalia with 15 points. Ryne Pugh scored 13.

Tecumseh’s Chase Culbertson scored 14.

Girls basketball

CJ 46, Badin 32: CJ’s Raytea Long was leading scorer with 15 points. The Eagles (4-0) held Badin (2-2) to 10 points in the second half.

Kara Gerbus scored 13 for Badin.

Fairborn 60, Springfield 25: Alexis Gassion led Fairborn with 23 points. Dominique Redmon and Mari King each scored nine.

Fairborn (4-0) outscored Springfield (0-2) 13-3 in the third quarter.

Miamisburg 66, West Carrollton 32: Molly Skapik had 24 points and nine steals for Miamisburg.

The Vikings (1-4) led West Carrollton (0-4) 20-8 at the end of the first quarter.

Wayne 85, Sidney 49: Faith Miller led Wayne with 28 points. Danie Shafer scored 20, Sam Palma 19 and Victoria Wabler 10.

Monique Hanayik and Lauren Elmore each scored 15 for Sidney.

Northmont 49, Vandalia 23: Ashtyn Payne led Northmont with 15 points, seven rebounds and six steals.

Centerville 76, Lebanon 28: Centerville led early after a 19-3 run in the first quarter.

Alex Henning paced the Elks (3-1) with 17 points. Shannon Coffee scored 10.
