Miamisburg City Council has elected a new vice mayor.

Three-term Councilwoman Sarah Clark has been unanimously chosen for the two-year post, succeeding Mike McCabe. Clark, 35, was first elected to council in 2009, unseating incumbent Lisa Hughes.

In 2015, she ran unsuccessfully against longtime Miamisburg Mayor Dick Church Jr., becoming his first challenger in 24 years.

She is business manager for Midwest Dental, and she represents the city on the Greater Miami Basin Subcommittee and Employee Review Committee.

Clark also is executive director for Common Sense Solutions for Ohio, leads a young mothers mentoring group called “Empower” and volunteers for the Montgomery County Juvenile Court.
