Tipp City Schools responds to racist comments

Tipp City Schools condemned racist comments posted this weekend on social media.

Superintendent Gretta Kumpf shared on her Twitter account that administrators have contacted the parents of students involved in making inappropriate comments and that the district would be following its student conduct policy to discipline the students.

Kumpf’s Tweets also were shared on the Tippecanoe High School Twitter and Facebook pages. The posts stated: “Tipp City Schools does not condone or tolerate racism of any sort. Recent comments by some of our students are totally inappropriate. They are not representative of the values we strive to instill in our students at Tippecanoe High School.”

We are working to learn how many students were involved, the nature of the comments and where the comments were posted.
