West Chester lands on ‘Best Places to Live in America’

West Chester Twp. is, once again, named among the best places to live in America.

That’s according to Money Magazine, which today released its list of “100 Best Place to Live in America” with the growing Butler County township as No. 56 on that list.

West Chester Twp. was previously ranked No. 49 in 2016’s “America’s Top 50 Places to Live,” No. 30 in 2014, No. 97 in a list of “Top 100 Places to Live” in 2012, No. 32 in 2010 and No. 45 in 2005, according to Money Magazine.

Released on Monday, this year’s list focuses on communities with populations from 10,000 to 100,000.

The list considers data on each place’s economic health, cost of living, public education, crime, ease of living, amenities and “overall sense of pleasantness,” all provided by research partner Witlytic.

West Chester Twp. ranks high in nearly every category, with a relatively high median household income of $81,767, a strong high school graduation rate of 91.9 percent and projected job growth of 6.2 percent, according to Money Magazine.

Not only is this the sixth time Ohio’s largest township has been named to the magazine’s top 100 list, but it’s also only one of three Ohio communities to make the 2017 slate of picks by the publication: Wooster was ranked No. 37, Powell ranked No. 66. and Delaware came in at No. 71.

Tops on the list was Fishers, Ind., located just north of Indianapolis.
