Within just a few hours of George Lang’s resignation as West Chester Twp. trustee, two people had pulled petitions to seek his seat.
Lang resigned on Wednesday in order to take the oath of office to be the next state lawmaker representing the 52nd Ohio House District, and leaves two years remaining on his unexpired term.
So far Lakota School Board member Lynda O’Connor and West Chester Twp. resident Lawrence Brown have pulled petitions for Lang’s unexpired term.
Along with Lang’s unexpired term, township voters will decide who should be elected to the full terms currently occupied by Trustees Lee Wong and Mark Welch.
The two incumbents along with Joan Powell and Mariann Penska are competing for the open seats.
Those who are interested in seeking to fill the unexpired trustee term have until 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, to file nomination and write-in petitions.
