Wednesday, May 23, 2007
DAYTON — Dayton City Commissioner Matt Joseph announced Wednesday that a program he developed, "Summer in the City," will provide opportunities for socializing and networking among college students working in the Dayton area on summer internships.
Joseph said the program will begin with an "AfterWork" gathering at the Therapy Cafe, 452 E. Third St., on Tuesday evening and continue with similar events through July. The program also will include weekend activities such as Dayton Dragons games, festivals and arts events.
Extras
Joseph said the purpose of the program is to make sure that young people working in the city temporarily get a taste of what the city has to offer so they are more inclined to choose to live and work here after graduation.
The project is co-sponsored by the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce, Dayton Urban League Young Professionals, the Dayton Dragons, CDO Technologies, the Dayton Development Coalition and other groups.
