More recruiting, starring Rich Rodriguez

In a bye week, it’s time to take in the big picture around the Big Ten. And here it is: Rich Rodriguez knows Michigan fans are impatient, and he knows things are tough.

Would it be different if Terrelle Pryor were in Ann Arbor? Tough to say. It seems pretty clear he would be the starting quarterback, but that doesn’t necessarily mean a better won-loss record.

Rodriguez doesn’t bank his optimism in his quarterback depth. He places it in recruiting, writes Bruce Hooley on FOXSports.com.

Now Pryor is at Ohio State, intent on tormenting the Wolverines the next several years, while Rodriguez struggles with redshirt freshman Steven Threet until two quarterback commitments arrive next season.
“It’s obvious, we’re struggling a little bit,” Rodriguez said. “It’s been a long time since our guys — maybe the first time our guys — have been, and a long time since I’ve went through something like this, but it’s not the end of the world. One positive in recruiting is that guys can see that, ‘Hey, maybe I can make an impact and help them get it turned around.’ ”

Exactly. Recruits could choose Michigan because they have a chance to help restore a legendary program to full strength.

However, Ohio State has a pretty good chance (understatement) of earning a fifth straight win against the Wolverines, especially with the game in Columbus. And between the two, recruiting isn’t looking so hot for Michigan, either.

Michigan’s 17 commitments so far give it the No. 15 class nationally, according to Scout.com.
Trouble is, Ohio State has 25 commitments and ranks No. 1.

Rich Rod is a slime bag and now a prooven looser. He ran a program at WVU corrupted with criminal recruits who were anything but student athletes Rich Rod you’re gonna suffer through two more losing seasons until they kick you the hell out of Ann Arbor - then maybe he’ll have a career as the Bengals head coach

may take a year or two but michigan will own the buckeyes and big ten. tressel is too conservative, chokes on the big games and is like a baseball player who signs that multi million dollar contract..he just doesn’t try as hard as he used to.or…maybe tressel is overrated..remember he stole a championship with coops recruits, he couldn’t handle potential 3 x hesiman winner clarett, and he always candy coats his losses.

I have to agree with lil wayne for once. Tressel recruits athletes not football players. Can’t make game adjustments on the fly.

The joke the past few years has been, “What type auto does Jim Tredssel own?” Answer: a Lloyd Carr. New Answer: a Rich Hot-Rodriguez. We passed through the dark days of the UM era. We now revel in the OSU era, may it never end! GO BUCKS!!!!

Lil Wayne, do you even watch football? The Buckeyes are having trouble due to a lack of legit DTs plus an awful O-line and your comment about MoC is ignorant at best. Tressel chokes in big games? Really? So then all those Michigan wins don’t count? The NC against “the greatest team ever” doesn’t count? Texas @ Texas doesn’t count? I could go on (N.C. w/ Rivers for example) Oh, and UM won’t own anything. Their recruiting class this year is TERRIBLE. No legit players on D unless they can pick up Campbell, no legit O-lineman, and their QB’s are VASTLY over-rated. Forcier is just like his brother (who was a joke) and Beaver can’t throw to save his life. They have recruited nothing but Slot Dots at WR. UM is going to look like the “all clown-car” team the next few seasons. Tiny is the word that will be used by most. The only reason they have a highly rated class is because those ratings are weighted towards QBs and WRs. Who is going to get stops? Who is going to block? UM is a joke and it isn’t going to be getting any better for them over the next few years because they are losing all their “talent” on D this year, face the facts. Meanwhile, the spoiled retard wing of the Buckeye fanbase (down with the sweater vest I’m looking at you) will cry like children if we happen lose 2 games a year as if that is something to be ashamed of. Get a grip guy. The future is brighter than bandwagon fans can imagine so please jump off now if you’d like. We don’t need you.

Okay Victor Spoils, when was the last time Tressel won a game he wasn’t supposed to? Miami, 2002? I don’t have a problem with losses when they’re legit. but Tressel can not make changes during the game and that’s what seperates him from the good coaches. Watching the UF & USC games was brutal. Never made adjustments. Losses are expected. Embarrasements are not. You go on and keep drinking the cool ade if you like.
